Adventures in Knitting

First, let me introduce you to Austin and Sara pictured here in front on Austin’s 30th birthday. We had a great time in their backyard full of snow with a bonfire in the middle – s’mores , guitars……. the whole bit!Sara (who you may recognize as the source of some of my recipes) is a wonderful wife, mom, and homemaker. She has also, over the past few years become a very proficient knitter, and has given Kayla and me a couple of lessons.
For my birthday this year, she made me (and Kayla) these amazing hand knit and felted matching mother/daughter knitting bags! Mine has been hanging on my closet door ever since, and I can’t get over how perfect it is!

And here is the extent of my knitting projects…..one not quite finished scarf, done entirely during our month long visit to Texas when I had lots of time in the car (we drove to Oklahoma and back) and hanging out at parents’ houses. My knitting endeavors came to a screeching halt upon re-entering real life back at home, but I hope to at least finish my scarf before next winter! Thanks, Sara, for your inspiration and beautiful gift!

  1. WOW!!! Sara is so talented! Those bags are so great! I know you will finish your scarf…make next winter your goal! 😉 And tell Kay Kay…no more grow’n!!

  2. Oh man! I am so jealous! Knitting is one of those things I have tried so many time but just can’t quite seem to stick to.

Please show lots of pictures of all your works-in-progress!
