Heavenly Houseguests

We are being blessed with our second round of four different sets of house guests this summer! This is Tallie – the 14 year old daughter of a friend of ours from Oklahoma. She came for a week, and we had lots of fun! This is us at Yankee Candle – always a stop on the Krumrey tour of the area. We also visited Boston, Nahant Beach – she’d never been to the beach- Shelburne Falls, and Mt. Sugarloaf. Tallie blessed us with her smile, her politeness, her passionate faith, her babysitting, her gratefulness, and her sock-matching abilities! (I had a basketful of unmatched ones that she conquered!) And who could not love a girl who can quote and Anne of Green Gables and Little Women!

And this is “Miss Riggs” – my beloved Spanish teacher, friend, mentor, and sister in Christ – who also happens to love Anne and Jo, Beth, Meg, and Amy! She arrived Sunday afternoon and brought the biggest Texas thunderstorm us New Englanders have ever seen with her! We spent the day talking about her recent mission trip to Uganda, her trip to Ethiopia a couple of years ago to meet one of her Compassion International children, and our planned trip to Ellis Island for Thursday where we will meet up with another former student of hers and friend of mine from 5th grade – Mike. Miss Riggs recently re-created and re-enacted the Ellis Island experience at her middle school and now she wants to see it in person! We finished the day with a walk into town and ice cream at Bart’s. We are always blessed by her visits and stories.
