Father’s Day Hike

A hike and picnic have been a somewhat annual event for Father’s Day at our house. This year we decided to hike Mt Sugarloaf which is just minutes from our house. The kids and I have hiked it before, but not Dad. It rained for the first part of the hike, but then cleared, and we had a hamburger lunch once we reached the top.

While rock climbing, we found a letterbox tucked in between two large rocks. We have been wanting to go “letterboxing” but have never looked up directions in our area. We didn’t have a stamp, but we signed the book anyway – such an exciting discovery!

And we learned how to use the self-timer on our camera!

He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
to teach their children,

so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
We love you, Dad, for teaching us so faithfully about our God, for loving us, and leading us! You are the best!
